Quality Concrete Solutions at ICCX 2007 in Cape Town

The International Concrete Conference and Exhibition ICCX was held in Cape Town on the 14th and 15th of February 2007.  This conference was hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, ICC.   The intention to bring together local and international concrete industries to discuss current developments in design, manufacture and, use of concrete and concrete products was certainly achieved, and BASF Construction Chemicals South Africa was there.

The event featured presentations by local and international experts as well as a large trade exhibition featuring, yet again, local and international suppliers of materials, machinery, accessories and services for the concrete and prefabrication industries.

By winning the right to host the soccer world cup 2010,  South Africa became the first African country ever hosting the event.   Next to the construction of sports stadiums and the upgrade of existing sports facilities, large infrastructural projects are currently carried out or planned for the near future.   The residential housing market and the development of low cost housing projects are booming.   The cement and concrete industries in South Africa are greatly benefiting from the recent developments and expect continuous growth over the next few years.  Rising demand in quantity and quality of concrete and concrete products are currently tackled industry-wide by upgrading existing and establishing new production plants.

Under the leadership of Rashid Jaffer, Business Systems Manager Admixtures, BASF Construction Chemicals is committed to engineering quality solutions to drive the concrete industry forward in South Africa.
