Parking Deck Systems
Aesthetics and functionality
Multi-storey car parks pose a particular challenge both for new builds and during renovation. The built-in floor systems must withstand chemical, thermal or mechanical stresses. Whether it's an exposed parking deck, a turning area, a ramp or an intermediate level, each of these special fields of application requires its own individual system. BASF Construction Chemicals therefore offers you sophisticated complete solutions.
For parking decks that are fully exposed to weathering and parking levels situated over used parts of the building and which, in bad cases, already have cracks or are at risk of cracking, a resilient and crack-bridging coating system must be installed. Such a system accommodates building movements and thereby reliably prevents the penetration of fluids and gases into the concrete substrate. The central part of these heavy-duty systems is the single or multilayer polyurethane liquid membrane in combination with a UV-stable seal.
Ramps, shafts or entry and exit areas are subjected mainly to mechanical stresses. These areas require the use of highly abrasion-resistant systems whose wear resistance increases with a higher percentage of aggregates. This creates a heavy-duty and anti-slip topping, which provides long-lasting protection.
Unprotected car parks on intermediate levels or on the ground floor often suffer from contamination from chlorides, carbonation or damage caused by mechanical influences. They must therefore be repaired and protected. Even in this area we can offer you various rigid or crack-bridging systems. One more advantage: the choice of multicoloured seals creates a bright and friendly atmosphere and makes it possible to visually distinguish between different areas of use. Quick hardening systems also ensure that the downtimes during maintenance work are kept as low as possible.
