BASF, MEYCO Equipment,  UGC International at Bauma

Bauma Münich

BASF were present at Bauma, the largest construction machine trade fair in the world!  Bauma takes place in Münich every 3 years and between April 23th. and April 29th. MEYCO Equipment and UGC International, divisions of BASF Construction Chemicals presented their equipment and associated chemical products.

MEYCO Equipment stand at Bauma 2007

To emphasise how important Bauma is in the construction industry, there were over 500’000 visitors from 190 countries, a rise of around 20 percent over 2004. The numbers also reflect the global boom in the construction industry. There were 3,040 exhibitors  from around the world displaying their products on approximately 540.000 square meters of exhibition space. The BASF stand itself recorded many more official business contacts than in 2004 from 65 countries. The high quality of the visitors was certainly a point of great satisfaction. Demonstrating and explaining the equipment, technical discussions, commercial meetings, including some important sales conclusions, advice and refreshing of old contacts were all part of the show.

On an area of 390 m² MEYCO and UGC International built an impressive exhibition and with MEYCO celebrating their 50th anniversary in the sprayed concrete business there was a hint of retrospection about the stand at BAUMA. In 1957 the very first concrete sprayer with a rotor principle allowing continuous spraying was invented. This innovation led to a revolution in concrete spraying and was the first of many technological developments coming out of the MEYCO factory in Winterthur, Switzerland. MEYCO has continued this tradition to the present day, building their reputation on a foundation of continually developing state-of-the-art equipment of uncompromising quality.

MEYCO®

MEYCO® Potenza equipped with the incredible MEYCO® Maxima spraying manipulator was the centre of attention. The MEYCO® Maxima has, among other unique and important features, an undisputable spraying range advantage and can also be extended from the parking position in any tunnel profile that MEYCO Potenza can fit into!
There was a ring-mounted spraying manipulator with “teach-in” functions and automation of nozzle movements. Also featured, MEYCO® Dosa TDC dosing technology and MEYCO® Data for compiling and processing performance data, whereby visitors were encouraged to use and assess the valuable features.
The revamped double-piston, wet-spraying machine, MEYCO® Altera for small to medium work and the very compact mobile spraying unit MEYCO® Oruga was on show. Also the MEYCO® Piccola MS specially equipped for spraying MASTERSEAL® 845 thin spray-on liner and MASTERSEAL®  345 sprayable waterproofing membrane.

UGC International

UGC International provides sprayed concrete products and an entire range of consumable tunnel boring machine products.

Meeting safety and ecological concerns alkali-free accelerators also offer time and rebound savings, quality enhancement and safer working environment. Combined with new Glenium superplasticisers, they are beneficial in single shell final linings.

MASTERSEAL® spray-applied waterproofing membrane with high bond strengths for single shell sprayed linings. MEYCO® Fix Fireshield 1350, durable fire protection mortar for new and exiting tunnels and mines. Both products being applied by the latest robotic manipulator MEYCO® Logica, permitting high levels profile tolerance and thickness control.

Advanced fast-setting RHEOCEM® microcements for deep penetration injection without bleeding. Chemical and mineral grouts, such as MEYCO® MP320T, offering unique environmental qualities. The MEYCO® MP350 and 360 series of urea silicates are available for cavity filling and ground consolidation.

Tunnel boring machine innovations include anti-dust systems, anti-clay treatments for soft ground together with tail shield and main bearing sealing greases.
