The under design of a major shopping centre in Gauteng, South Africa, required that the carrying capacity of the 5500m2 lower floor be strengthened from 600kg per m2 to 1100kg per m2, and that supporting pillars be reinforced.
The client only had four months in which to complete the task prior to the first tenants taking up residence.
